Back in February I was given the opportunity to meet with Solihull Moors assistant manager Gary Whild to ask him a few questions about himself and the club...
Q1. How do you go about getting yourself and the team ready for each game?
A1. Well first we have a look at the oppositions strengths and weaknesses and try to counter for that. I make sure I know what I need to know and that the lads know what is expected of them.
Q2. Is the assistant manager the role that you would choose or would you prefer to manage your own club?
A2. I'm happy being the assistant manager as I enjoy being close with the players and building good individual relationships, whereas the manager isn’t around them as much as myself and the other coaches.
Q3. If you could have an input and an unlimited budget which players would you bring to the club and why?
A3. Lionel Messi, Mo Salah and Sergio Aguero. They’re outstanding at what they do, score goals, make goals and it would be great to see them at this level.
Q4. What four people would you choose to go for dinner with and why?
A4. Tim Flowers, Jürgen Klopp, Serena Williams and Holly Willoughby. It would be a good mix, fun and interesting.
Thank you to Gary for taking the time to come and answer a few questions and letting me get some insight on someone who is very important at Solihull Moors Football Club.
