| Moors Draw At Eastwood |
|
Despite stumbling to a 1-1 draw last night at Eastwood Town, Solihull Moors climbed two places in the league table to 15th position. Having already lost to Eastwood this season, Solihull were keen to turn the tables and claim the three points, however, Eastwood went into the game full of confidence having drawn at home to high flying FC Halifax Town on Saturday. Moors started the better of the two teams but it took until 32 minutes before the deadlock was broken when a Stuart Pierpoint header came off the underside of the bar, hit the ground and bounced out. Any dispute if it crossed the line or not was immaterial as the ball then hit the back of the keeper and into the net. However, the records will show that it was Pierpoint who scored, his second for the club. Eastwood though were not to lie down so easily and 46 seconds into the second half they equalised when Christie beat the offside trap and slotted into an empty net. Despite plenty of possession, Solihull could not trouble the home keeper enough. Line Up: Singh, Midworth, Langdon, Hurren, Pierpoint, Spencer, Morris, Fitzpatrick, English, Beswick and Blackwood. Unused subs: Connolly, Marsden, Thompson-Brown, Walker and Acton. |
