Solihull Moors Ladies will now be known as Solihull Moors Women.
The name change also comes with the appointment of David Healey as the new Women’s Manager at the Club.
Healey, 34, has most recently been a youth team manager at the Moors, before going on to support former Head Coach Annie Zaidi in the last few months of the 2018/19 season.
His other experiences in coaching includes working in Sierra Leone at the Craig Bellamy Foundation and goalkeeper coaching at Crewe Alexandra Ladies.
Healey will be supported in his new role by current Assistant Manager Dan Kembery.
“I’m very pleased to have joined, it’s very exciting to be part of such a progressive Club,” Healey said. “It’s an honour to be part of such an important part of the Club. I’m really pleased and I can’t wait to get started.
“I started working with Annie (Zaidi) with about four or five games to go, so I’d just like to thank her for getting me involved. It was a great experience working alongside her and Dan (Kembery) who I’m going to keep on as my assistant.
“They’ve (the board) been fantastic with me. They really want to raise the level of the girls’ game. They’ve got some more fantastic ideas coming along, so it’s an exciting time.”
Chairman of the Women’s team, Alex Alexandrou, said: “We are pleased that the Women’s team are now going to be an integral part of the Club.
“We would like to thank Mark Fogarty for not only bringing the team over to the Club, but also ensuring that it was kept going through a hard season.
“Since David’s appointment, he has been a positive influence on the squad, and we look forward to developing a positive working relationship that develops both the team and players.
“We also look forward to the future as we are determined to develop girls’ and women’s football at all levels within the Club by creating a dedicated pathway from youth to first team football.”
Solihull Moors Women will take on Peterborough United Women at the ABAX Stadium this Sunday (26th May) in a friendly match.
A record crowd is expected for what is a celebration of the Women’s game. Tickets can be bought online here: https://www.eticketing.co.uk/theposh/EDP/Event/Index/2229
