Gary Whild reacts to Harrogate victory

By Luke Turner

The assistant boss on an important win...

Gary Whild on battling through a difficult game...

"They're (Harrogate) a good side and they've proved that with their record this season. When you're playing a team who are in the top three/four, you expect it to be tough.

"It certainly was and I thought the lads were outstanding.

"I don't think we've thought too much about not scoring, but it's always good to get a goal - especially in a game like that.

"The first goal is important and after the first half an hour, I thought it settled us down a little bit and we were creating some things. We looked a threat.

"It was nice to get the second goal because it gives you a bit of breathing space."

Gary Whild on the team mentality...

"This set of lads work hard. The harder you work, sometimes you get a little bit of luck as well.

"Their endeavour, will to win and ability is outstanding. They fully deserved another clean sheet tonight."

Gary Whild on the league position, confidence and Sutton up next...

"The league doesn't lie at this time of the season. We're there on merit and these lads deserve to be where they are - they deserve all the credit.

"We're keeping clean sheets, not getting beat and winning games. It's fantastic for the club.

"You can see the lads are confident now, they've got a little spring in their step which is only right with the run they're on.

"Sutton will be very tough and we'll have to get towards the sort of standard we were tonight to get anything down there."
