The best of the action from the weekend:
Saturday Section (MJPL):
The Saturday teams kicked off this week with only two losses out of the nine games played.
A superb result for our U12s AT team coached by Andy Talliss, with 3rd against 2nd placed Walsall Phoenix Ospreys. They came away with a narrow 1:0 home win, allowing them to leapfrog Walsall into 2nd place and continue their outstanding start to the season.
Both our U13s teams continued their impressive starts to their season, with U13s DW coached by Darren Wilby crushing Black Country Rangers away from home. U13s GB team coached by Gary Bird also chalked up a big 5:0 win home victory against Coventry Sphinx Juniors.
Our U14s MT team coached by Dan Summers continued their run of just one defeat in seven games, with a 0:5 away win against Banbury United Youth.
Our U15s team coached by Dimitri Ward-Ttikkirou came away with a convincing 6:0 home victory against CS Colts, keeping them in 2nd place in the league with a game in hand on top side Stratford Town - three points behind.
Our U15s TC team coached by Tom Coggan also chalked up yet another win in a 6:0 victory versus Rugby Town Juniors, seeing them up to 13th position in their 61 team league!
Saturday Section (CWGFL):
The girls section had a great weekend with all three competitive games played chalking up victories.
Our U14s team travelled to top of the table side Boldmere Falcons, in a 1st versus 2nd match up. They came away comfortable 1:5 winners, with 4 goals from super striker Grace Barsby, keeping Moors in contention of the Division B title.
Our U15s team coached by Paul Dumbleton travelled to fierce rivals Sutton United, with only nine players to start with at kick off, due to a succession of injuries lately. Win the 9 players and then 10 after half time, the Moors still managed to come away with a 1:6 victory. That keeps them in 2nd spot, with two games in hand but only a point adrift of top side Boldmere Falcons.
Our U17s coached by Richard Stanway travelled to Pelsall Villa this week and came away with all three points after a 2:4 win.
Sunday Section (CWYFL):
Only three wins in the entire Sunday section this week, which is highly unusual.
Our U14s coached by Dave Howell travelled to Redditch United this week and won 1:6 to see them leapfrog Olton Ravens into 4th position.
The U16s JK team coached by Jamie Kirk made it two wins out of two, having to play Continental Star two weeks on the trot. They won 4:2 last week, before travelling to Holford Drive in Perry Barr to win 3:6 this week. A much needed win for them to keep in contention with the three sides above them, while still being involved with the BCFA Minor Cup coming up again this week in Round 3.
Our U16s IF team coached by Ian Farrell, climbed into 6th position this week with a comfortable 2:0 victory at home to Glades FC.
Our Adult Sunday team managed by Craig Reeves continued their superb season so far, with another victory in one of the many cup competitions they are entered into. They dispatched of Attleborough Royal Oak at Solihull Sports Centre 3:0, to see them safety into the hat for the last 16!

Our Over 35s were in the return game this week in a 1st versus 2nd match up. Moors hosted Sutton and narrowly lost out 2:3 in a very highly contested game. This leaves Moors in 2nd position, one point behind top side Sutton but with a game in hand. Everything is still all to play for and fingers crossed they continue a superb season lead by the management team of Daniel Thomas and supported by Martin Flynn.

Our two over 45 teams in the Birmingham County Over 45 League Central Venue League, held at Boldmere St Michaels Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, both came out with victories this week.
At the start of the day, Solihull Moors (Orange) were sitting bottom and were pitched against top side Boldmere St Michaels. ‘Orange’ managed by Steve Murphy and Brendan Maxwell managed to over-power the Mikes in an absolute thriller, coming away with an 8:4 victory. Rickie Insular chalked up five goals, with Steve Murphy, Eddie Taylor and Tony Walker also contributing.
Solihull Moors (Red) saw themselves into 2nd place too, with a narrow 0:1 victory against Whittington Vets, with the goal coming from the penalty spot - Nick Oakley duly dispatched to claim all three points.
