Birmingham City U23 1 Solihull Moors 3

More minutes under the belt...
Solihull Moors continued their preparation ahead of the 2019/20 campaign with a 3-1 victory against Birmingham City under-23's in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Trillion Trophy Training Centre.
Moors boss Tim Flowers again opted to field two separate elevens in each half.
The visiting side created the first opportunity of the game as a glorious ball from Jamey Osborne found the head of Danny Wright, but he could only head over.
It took just 13 minutes for the opening goal as Jamie Reckord fed Terry Hawkridge, before the winger steadied himself and fired into the back of the net via the inside of the post.
That lead was doubled just four minutes later. Wright found himself in behind the Blues defence and drilled across goal for Jordan Murphy who had the simple task of tapping home via a deflection.
Moors 'keeper Ryan Boot was kept quiet in the main, but had to be alert when he pushed a long-range strike round the post.
The first half XI almost went into the break with a three-goal lead as Darren Carter's corner was headed onto the underside of the bar by Lee Vaughan, as the young Blues escaped.
Half-time: Birmingham City U23's 0-2 Solihull Moors
Blues themselves made changes at the interval and enjoyed more possession in the second period. A neat passage of play resulted in a shot going high and wide of the goal.
A trademark long throw from George Carline was met by Nathan Blissett in the middle, but Jake Weaver was alert and did well to claim.
The third Moors goal arrived as Matt Stenson expertly kept control of the ball before turning and volleying a shot in off the post to make it three.
Blues found a consolation goal with nine minutes to play as Jayden Reid broke away on the counter attack and fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner after cutting in from the left.
