Solihull Moors 1 AFC Fylde 2
Danny Rowe's brace gives visitors all three points...
Solihull Moors were beaten by fellow promotion challengers AFC Fylde following two second half strikes from Danny Rowe, either side of Jamey Osborne’s equaliser.
The visitors were first to threaten as Nick Haughton jinked his way through and set-up Rowe who fired narrowly wide of the right post.
Back up the other end and Nathan Blissett got on the end of Tyrone Williams’ cross, but his acrobatic effort went straight into the arms of Jay Lynch.
Some good work from Danny Wright ended up in the ball being laid off for Darren Carter who let fly with a shot that fizzed wide.
The best chance of the game then fell to Wright who got on the end of Kyle Storer’s cross, but he was thwarted by Lynch who got down low to save.
The Moors began to take control of proceedings and tested the Fylde backline when Osborne exquisitely turned his man and rifled a shot that clipped the top of the bar and over.
Half-time: Solihull Moors 0-0 AFC Fylde
The Coaster began the second half with intent as Rowe played in Dan Bradley and forced Ryan Boot into a smart save.
And the visitors took the lead with seven minutes of the second half played. Zaine Francis-Angol found space down the left and crossed for Rowe who got the ball under control and slotted under Boot.
Rowe then spotted Boot off his line and went for an audacious lob from distance that went well wide.
Moors had a great chance to level when a short corner was worked to substitute Adi Yussuf in the middle – he set up Storer, but the skipper skewed his effort wide.
Just a moment later, Solihull found themselves level. Osborne worked some space and rifled a shot from outside the box that went into the roof of the net.
It took just an inch of space for Rowe to shift the ball and put the visitors back ahead again. The National League top scorer picked up the ball on the edge of the area, took his time and drilled low past Boot and into the corner.
Haughton almost made it three as he breezed though the middle of the pitch and aimed for the corner, where Boot was there to tip round the post.
An Osborne corner met the head of Alex Gudger as the Moors looked to find a way back into the game for a second time, but his header drifted wide of the mark.
