Boreham Wood 2 Solihull Moors 2

Moors have to settle for draw...
Solihull Moors were pegged back twice as Boreham Wood took a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Meadow Park.
The hosts had the first sight at goal as Ralstan Gabriel skipped away from Kyle Storer and Tyrone Williams down the left, before crossing for Justin Shaibu who shot wide.
Back at the other end and the returning Jamey Osborne tried his luck with a half-volley that drifted comfortably wide of the mark.
The breakthrough came with just nine minutes on the clock. Adi Yussuf’s inch perfect ball through found Nathan Blissett whose low shot was well saved by George Legg, before deflecting off Jamal Fyfield and the post on its way into the net.
Femi Ilesanmi raced down the left wing and put in a delightful cross for Gabriel who found himself free in the box, only to head high and wide.
The leveller didn’t take much longer to arrive as a corner was met at the back post, headed across goal and Gabriel was on hand to nod home from close range.
Half-time: Boreham Wood 1-1 Solihull Moors
Tim Flowers’ side began the second half looking to regain their lead and they almost did just that. A diagonal free-kick from Storer found Blissett who volleyed into the ground and forced Legg to tip over.
The same duo combined again as Blissett glanced a dinked ball inches wide of the far post.
A glorious chance presented itself as Osborne waited for the key moment to drive a low cross into the box where Yussuf was waiting in the middle – his strong shot was blocked well by Legg.
Alex Gudger was almost caught out as he surrendered possession, but Liam Daly was on hand to come across and block Justin Shaibu’s effort.
Moors then scored that crucial second just moments later. Jermaine Hylton did well to stand up his defender, shift the ball to the right and drill a low cross where Yussuf was waiting to tap home his 20th of the season in all competitions.
However, a killer blow came with just two minutes of normal time to play. Moors were caught down the right side and a cross to the back post found Ilesanmi who teed up substitute Idris Kanu to stroke the ball past Ryan Boot.
