26-year-old central defender Alex Gudger signed from Brackley Town in the close season. He has been an ever present with the Saints in his two-year stint at St James Park and was also a member of the squad that came so close to gaining promotion to the National League last season, losing away at Harrogate Town in the play-off final. He played at Wembley in the nail biting Buildbase FA Trophy win over Bromley.
Alex progressed through the youth ranks at Nuneaton Town as they won promotion the Conference but is was at Rugby Town that he made his mark as a 19-year-old and went on to play 111 times for them collecting the Player of the Season award in his first season and being made Club Captain for the 2013/14 season. He signed for Worcester City in the summer 2015 and onto Brackley for the 2016-17 season.
