As for Moors’ starting line-up, manager Shan named a strong team with Hudlin again starting up front, following his wonder-strike against Halifax Town last time out.
Jordan Piggott came into the defence for his second Moors start and Jamie Ward came in at right-wing back, with Cameron Coxe given a breather.
Goalkeeper Boot skippered the side, with Kyle Storer rested and Callum Maycock came into the midfield.
Minute by Minute Report
There was drama right from the off in this encounter with the game being forced to take place on the 3G pitch after the SportNation.bet Stadium pitch was deemed unfit to play.
Despite the change in playing surface, Moors remained faithful to their passing game, Maycock in the centre of the park receiving plenty of the ball early on.
But it was a long ball forward that produced the first chance of the game, Hudlin gathered, slipped in Ball but the angle was tight and his shot drifted wide.
Moors had enjoyed a positive start to the game but Farsley were by no means overawed, their forwards quick to close the home defence down.
And it was the Celts with the first real attempt, Walton’s deflected shot from just inside the box, tested Boot who showed quick reflexes to palm the ball away.
Spencer then got the better of Hancox, brushing off the challenge but his shot was weak and easily collected by Boot.
As for the hosts, they were looking to exploit the space behind Farsley’s back four, playing searching balls over the top.
It was one such pass that had Sbarra through on goal, he looked to lob the onrushing Dredge but his effort bounced inches past the far post.
Midfielder Sbarra’s influence was growing, moments later, his cut back caught Hudlin on his heels but the striker more than made up for it shortly after.
Farsley were punished for allowing Hudlin time to turn, he looked up, picked his shot and from just outside the area, nonchalantly caressed the ball into the top far corner.
It was a strike good enough to grace any game and one which had Moors establish a 1-0 lead at the interval.

Moors started the second half on the front foot, Ward’s corner caused havoc, Hudlin looked to have poked in from close range but the ball was scrambled away by Chris Atkinson.
Then at the other end of the pitch, Spencer found himself bearing down on goal but Boot stood strong and batted away his firmly hit strike.
A close call for Moors but in the main, they were much the dominant side. Sbarra looking particularly lively, running off Hudlin.
At right-wing back Ward was receiving far greater joy than he had before the break, his incisive runs causing problems for the visiting defence.
And it was Ward’s dangerous corner which dropped to centre-half Pearce who drilled a shot goalwards and via an Archer deflection, found the bottom corner.
There may have been dispute over the goalscorer but no-one could take Archer’s second goal away from him.
A neat exchange on the edge of the area, involving Maycock and Hancox, resulted in Archer with only the keeper to beat which he did with aplomb.
It was a killer blow for Farsley, who had fought so valiantly throughout and shortly after, Hancox had his name on the scoresheet.
Archer was the provider, racing onto a ball down the right-hand side before cutting the ball back for Hancox to stroke home.
Ward almost added a fifth late on but he was unable to make a telling contact on Archer’s deep cross.
So four was how it stayed on a satisfying afternoon for Moors, who overcame a potential banana skin and ultimatley, showed their class to progress.
