Solihull Moors concluded their pre-season schedule with a 2-2 draw against AFC Telford United at Compton Park in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
The returning Andrew Dallas scored twice inside the opening 45 minutes for Moors, before Paul Carden’s National League North outfit fought back in the second period.
There were three golden opportunities for Solihull to take the lead inside five minutes. Josh Kelly was denied by goalkeeper and crossbar before Dallas’ follow-up was also thwarted by Luke Pilling.
However, Moors weren’t to be denied on the eight-minute mark when Callum Maycock played a square pass to Dallas inside the area – the striker swept a first-time low effort into the bottom corner to give Moors the lead.
Joey Jones played a cross-field ball into the path of the trialist who, in turn, whipped in a dangerous cross towards Kelly who made good contact, but found Pilling in the way yet again.
Neal Ardley’s men added a second shortly before the half-time break as Kelly spotted the run of Dallas who was away and quickly latched onto the ball before clinically dispatching.
Half-time: AFC Telford United 0-2 Solihull Moors
Telford pulled a goal back five minutes into the second half as Byron Moore found the net from inside the area.
Moors went back on the attack at the other end and following a sublime back-heel from Maycock, Ryan Barnett drifted infield and watched his effort take a deflection and drop just over.
The Bucks levelled just after the hour mark as former Moors defender Harry Flowers headed home from a free-kick.
And that’s how it finished at Compton Park, training ground of Wolverhampton Wanderers, as the Moors now look forward to the opening league game of the season at Aldershot Town next Saturday.
