Solihull Moors v Barnet

Moors were forced to settle for a point as Daniel Powell struck 10 minutes from time to earn Barnet a draw at the SportNation.bet Stadium.

Andrew Dallas opened the scoring with his first league goal of the season, as he was able to steer the ball into the bottom left corner after a ball over the top from Callum Howe.

However, with the elusive second goal evading the Moors, Barnet levelled in-front of their travelling fans as Powell found the corner of the net.

Team News:

The Moors were unchanged from last week's season opener against Wrexham, with the only two tweaks coming on the bench - Alex Gudger and Lois Maynard making a return to the matchday squad.

The Match:

Early on, Marcus Dewhurst’s kick put the Barnet defence under pressure and forced them to concede their first corner. The encouraging signs saw Dallas glance a header wide from the resulting set-piece.

The Scot was at it again as he recieved the ball on the left hand side, found a yard of space and forced Sam Sargeant into a near-post save.

Joe Sbarra then found himself in a bit of space on the edge of the box, and struck an effort that deflected just wide with the 'keeper stranded.

Barnet, with their first decent spell of possession, created an opportunity as Serhat Tasdemir shot from outside of the box and watched the ball go over the top of the bar.

The Moors broke the deadlock three minutes before the interval. A ball over the top from Howe was pounced upon by Dallas as he got there ahead of Sargeant to poke home into the bottom corner of the net.

Half-time: Solihull Moors 1-0 Barnet

The action got back underway with seemingly the same intent from the Moors as Callum Maycock drove forward through the Barnet defence after receiving a pass from Ryan Barnett, before shooting into the arms of Sargeant.

Moors were in need of a second goal and there were a number of chances from which to get it. Some twisting and turning from Dallas invited the Barnet defence out before he set-up Sbarra to shoot and force Sargeant into a save on his right-hand side.

It was then the turn of Harry Boyes to try his luck and his low drive was heading into the bottom corner, but for the palms of Sargeant who, at full stretch, managed to connect and send the ball out for a corner.

From the resulting corner, substitute Kyle Hudlin rose highest and saw his header drop just over the top of the crossbar.

And Hudlin's second effort wasn't too far away either. As he collected a pass on the edge of the box, the striker took the invitation to strike and it flew just high and wide of Sargeant's left-hand post.

The Moors were made to pay the price for not extending their lead, as the visitors found a leveller 10 minutes from time. The ball was played in from the right-hand side and there was Powell to meet it and find the bottom corner.
