Solihull Moors are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Matty Carson ahead of the 2026/27 season, subject to league and FA approval. The 23-year-old defender joins the Moors following his spell with Boston United, where he made 33 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign, starting 28 matches as the Pilgrims secured their National League status. Carson began his career in the Liverpool academy before joining Burnley's youth set-up in 2019. The defender later moved to Reading, where he spent two seasons and made his first-team debut in a 4-0 victory over Millwall in August 2023, going on to make 10 senior appearances for the Royals. Following his departure from Reading, Carson joined Grimsby Town, making 13 appearances for the Mariners, while also gaining valuable experience during loan spells with Radcliffe and Alfreton Town. Carson becomes the first addition to Chris Millington's squad as preparations continue for the new season. Speaking on the signing, Chris added, "We have been aware of Matty since his time at Burnley and we've monitored his progress and performances. We feel he's at the perfect stage of his career to come and help us push forward with Moors. Defensively sound, he will also bring an added attacking dimension to our wide areas and we expect him to contribute to the quality of our set pieces. I am delighted to welcome Matty to the Moors family." On joining, Matty added: "I'm really excited to get started and get out in front of the fans!" Everybody at Solihull Moors would like to welcome Matty to the Club and wish him every success.

Following several weeks of discussions between the Club and Laurie Walker regarding the 2026/27 season, we have unfortunately been unable to reach an agreement that works for both parties. Having started every National League fixture during the 2025/26 campaign, Laurie departs Damson Park having been an outstanding servant to the Club and a key figure both on and off the pitch throughout his time with the Moors. Everyone at Solihull Moors would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Laurie for his professionalism, commitment and contribution during his time at the Club. We wish him every success in the next chapter of his career. Laurie will always be welcome back at Damson Park and he leaves with the gratitude and best wishes of everyone associated with Solihull Moors. Thank you, Loz 💙

Solihull Moors Foundation are delighted to celebrate a fantastic achievement for our U16’s Premiership Ability Counts team, who have officially been crowned league champions following an outstanding season of commitment, teamwork, and determination. After months of hard work both in training and on matchdays, the team finished the campaign in style by proudly lifting the league trophy, a well-deserved reward for the incredible effort shown by every player throughout the season. The squad have represented the Foundation brilliantly from start to finish, consistently demonstrating resilience, sportsmanship, and togetherness. Their success on the pitch reflects not only their ability and determination as a team, but also the positive and inclusive environment that surrounds the Ability Counts programme. Coaches, staff, volunteers, families, and supporters have all played an important role in helping the players grow in confidence and enjoy their football, and this title-winning season is a testament to the strength of that support network. This league title represents far more than results on the pitch. It highlights the positive impact inclusive sport can have within the community and showcases the dedication of everyone involved in creating opportunities for young people to thrive both on and off the field.
