Tim Flowers bolsters his striking options...

The Club are delighted to announce the signing of Macclesfield Town striker and two-time Vanarama National League promotion winner Nathan Blissett on a deal until the end of the 2019/2020 season.

The 28-year-old arrives at the Automated Technology Group Stadium having won the league with the Silkmen last season, where he netted five times from January onwards.

Blissett spent the second half of the last campaign with the current National League champions, before making his move permanent at Moss Rose in the summer from Plymouth Argyle.

Born in West Bromwich, the six-foot five inch forward caught the eye with Evo-Stik League Division One South side Romulus, where Kidderminster Harriers then came knocking.

He scored 11 goals with Kiddy, before then going on to have spells in the fifth tier with Cambridge United, Tranmere Rovers and Bristol Rovers – he achieved promotion with the latter in 2015 through the play-offs.

In January 2016, Blissett joined Torquay United and scored 12 goals in 41 games. That propelled him to Plymouth Argyle where he was part of the side that won promotion to League One.

Three goals in a handful of appearances for Argyle meant a move to Macclesfield and now to the Moors where he will look to add extra firepower to the team.

Assistant Manager Gary Whild said: “Nathan has a great record at getting promoted from this level and even in the Football League.

“He will massively add to our frontline and, most importantly, Tim and I have worked with him before.

“He’s good on the pitch and is the right type of person to bring in – he’ll add to the group off-the-pitch as well with his attitude.”

Sporting Director Mark Fogarty said: "From a club perspective, Nathan was a priority for us after our analysis and recruitment team spent time on profiling the player to fit in with the Moors philosophy."

Blissett will wear the number 13 shirt and is eligible to play in tomorrow’s National League clash against Barrow AFC.
