Solihull Moors saw a 0-0 draw slip away from them with the final kick of the game as Tyrone Marsh grabbed a last-gasp winner for Boreham Wood.
Kabongo Tshimanga was slipped through early on, but his low drive was well blocked by Alex Gudger for a corner that came to nothing.
Tshimanga then found space down the right and slipped in Marsh who found Callum Howe in the way who made a magnificent last-ditch challenge.
The Moors’ first sight at goal came when Danny Wright cushioned the ball to Gavin Gunning who fired in an effort from 25 yards that Nathan Ashmore parried, just out of reach of Adi Yussuf.
Tshimanga, who has already netted 10 goals this season, almost added to his tally with a low strike that was well blocked by Boot.
A teasing ball in from skipper Kyle Storer found the head of Wright who nodded back across goal to Yussuf who was unable to make contact as the ball travelled inches wide of the post.
Gunning tried his luck again with a dipping effort that Ashmore had to make sure sailed over without any trouble.
Half-time: Boreham Wood 0-0 Solihull Moors
Tim Flowers was forced into a half-time change with Tyrone Williams coming on in place of Gudger.
As the hosts drove forward with Marsh at the heart of the attack, it was halted as Liam Daly came across and made a fantastic sliding tackle.
After signing for the club on Friday afternoon, James Ball came on to make his Moors debut nine minutes into the half, replacing Yussuf.
Boot had to be at his very best when Tshimanga got a shot off that was arrowing into the far corner, but Boot had other ideas as he got down low and tipped away.
Sorba Thomas whipped in a dangerous free kick to the back post that was well cleared by Williams who did well under pressure.
The Moors then survived as a Adam McDonnell free kick made its way over the wall and cannoned back off the underside of the crossbar and away from danger.
Into the final moments and, after Josh Neufville won a free kick in a dangerous position, Osborne took aim and forced Ashmore to tip round the post.
Then, right at the death, a corner into the box caused havoc and Marsh swivelled and fired past Boot with the final bit of action to break Moors hearts.
